Hi Everyone,

Apparently an old account of mine was compromised. I'm currently taking steps to ensure this does not happen again. Please disregard "my" previous message.

With Sincerest Apologies,

Andrew Castillo

Why Andy Should Get a Mac

  • You wouldn't lose out on anything - new Macs and MacBooks run Windows, either simultaneously with OS X or in Boot Camp.
  • It plays WoW, for chrissake's
  • The little things...
    • The MagSafe power connector ensures there will be no laptop throwing by accident
    • Frontrow is completely badass. I know you'd probably never use it cuz you're too cool for school, but it could potentially power party playlists!
  • The price thing isn't really a huge factor. Sometimes, the Mac is even cheaper. Take Dell's XPS line. Selecting the same specs as what comes standard on a Mac, the MacBook I have is $1299, vs. the XPS' $1403. I'd link, but it's dynamic. Price includes upgrade to 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Windows Ultimate (the one that still scored lower than Leopard), Bluetooth, and a 56Whr battery.
  • I hate the Cult of Mac as much or maybe more than you do. You know how you feel about all of those douchebag vegetarians and vegans out there? You know who I'm talking about. That's the same way I feel about the douchebag Mac users.
  • God, I fucking hate those guys.

Glare

Her glare slides past me. Like sticky words on pretty fingers, bound together with tape and honor.

Esoteric images of fate, mountains and all, glitter like stars in the wind. The heat waves wave, the karma will emanate, but still her glare slides past me.

"And to be human then?" Despite the words forming behind her perfect alveolar ridge, I see past and can only think of what is to come. "Humanity," I say, fingering the case in my pocket, "has been of no use to anyone since you came along."

"That cuts deep." The words are throaty, deep.

I don't notice her ring finger at first. Why would I be looking at it? It is wrapped around the champagne glass with the other three, but I suppose there is something about it. It's glowing. The scarlet satin tablecloth glints off of it, just for a second. The violin slows to just sine waves...I flick the case open and the cold titanium is making my teeth grit.

No. It's not the knife that's causing my nerves to shoot up. It's the little girl sitting next to us. Her face of surprise, a little bundle of shock as the barrel of Hannah's gun glides past the pretty table cloth, and under her shirt. Goddammit, it looks like there's not going to be any chance to make it out of here with even two out of our three. Fuck it, let's go for at least one.

Record Times

I actually finished my fucking work on time! I'm ecstatic, to say the least. Paper 2: Abercrombie and Fitch - Clothing Imperialists for 100 Years is finished.

I normally don't appreciate my Racism class very much, to put it lightly. I dunno, something about this particular story resonated with me. I think it was the poor PR. I'd never do that to my company, whether or not they were racist bastards. Everyone deserves a fair fight. Cue Nick Naylor.

I've probably discussed how that man is my hero. People ask me what I want to do with my life. The clearest vision I have so far is "Like Hitler, but good." So far...that seems like a distant prospect. And unsettling to some. I'm entirely convinced that the power of words supercedes the power of any other weapon man has yet devised. The pen may not be mightier than the sword, but the tongue sure as fuck is.

Futile Attempts at...

Just about everything, really. Mostly "blogging." I'm terrible at this, mostly because I really don't have time for it. But I suppose I really have to make time, eh?

It feels like the only time that I have time for anything is when I don't have time for something else, in this case for an essay I have to write within 24 hours. Number of hours I've contributed solely to the essay: .01. I uh, read the prompt.

Allofmp3's plight makes me sad.

However, I like free music too!

Moral Quandary

What to do with all of the photos that I have procured of my father touching women that are not his wife, wedding ring present on his finger?

What to do with the knowledge that all of my life, my father has been really a good dad but a terrible husband?

What should I do with my brothers, gentle yet independent as they are?

One thing's for sure: I'm so stressed out right now it kinda hurts.

Weekend Update

Parents are getting divorced, and that kinda sucks. From the looks of things, my mom finally got tired of my dad cheating on her. (LGT a similar example, not the actual incident.)

My Dad's defense:
  • Not cheating because there was no penetration (Rule 5)
  • Did it for the $50 that he needed to buy school supplies
  • "You don't know my life, and that's fine"
My response:
  • It's cheating because
    • You won't even let mom speak to other men
    • You've done it before
    • It's something you must obviously must have known would hurt the family
  • In the past six months, you've probably borrowed approximately $800 from me, and have repaid approximately $500
  • You accept the consequences for your own silence. If you won't enlighten us with your Goddamn reasons, fuck you.
Other than that though...

Life is life, I guess. I'm avoiding studying for midterms, I found out that I need a full 15 hours of upper division coursework to complete next semester...I'm pissed off. I took summer school so that I wouldn't have to go through that shit...and now, I might not even graduate until the summer. That got me pretty pissed off.

I'm looking for closure, but I can't find it. It's like I stopped writing in the middl
